Bio of Brad Jelavich
Brad is the third generation of his family to work in California agriculture. Both of his grandfathers farmed apples, apricots, peaches and prunes in Northern California starting in the 1940’s. Brad grew up helping his dad in the orchards, which had expanded to include walnuts in the 1980’s.
His interest in the sales and marketing aspect of the agricultural industry led him to study economics at San Diego State University. Upon graduating with a B.A. in Economics, Brad moved back to Northern California to help manage his father’s inshell walnut packing plant. Learning the packing process and what it takes to provide a high quality, marketable product were an invaluable experience and provided Brad with a solid foundation to move into sales and marketing.
